London Ontario
London is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, along the Quebec City – Windsor Corridor. The city had a population of 383,800, according to the 2016 Canadian census. London is at the confluence of the Thames River, roughly 200 km from both Toronto and Detroit, and about 230 km from Buffalo, New York. The city of London is an apart town, politically different from Middlesex County, though it stays the county seat.
London and the Thames were named in 1793 by John Graves Simcoe, who proposed the website for the capital city of Upper Canada. Given that then, London has grown to be the biggest Southwestern Ontario municipality and Canada’s 11th biggest urbane area, having annexed many of the smaller sized neighborhoods that surrounded it.
London is a regional center of health care and education, being house to the University of Western Ontario (which brand names itself “Western University”), Fanshawe College, and several health centers (consisting of a University Hospital). The city hosts a number of creative and musical celebrations and exhibits, which contribute to its tourism market, but its financial activity is centered on education, medical research study, insurance, and details technology.
